Beside helping modifying the clarity of PET, DMIP, Dimethyl Isophthalate, also lowers the melting point of PET resins, which increase the performance in films, blow-molded bottles and other applications, thanks to an improvement in the processing temperatures.
The main advantage of DMIP is that this raw material allows to obtain high molecular weight polyester fibers through transesterification of methyl ester with a glycol.
