MDI, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate
...for hard and semi-hard polyurethane foams ...
MDI, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, CAS: 101-68-8, is one of the most important chemical raw materials currently used in the polyurethane industry. MDI or MMDI are the most used abbreviation for this material which can be used as “pure” MDI, Modified MDI or Polymeric MDI (p-MDI). MDI is one of the main chemical ingredients used in the manufacture of flexible polyurethane foams for bedding, industrial goods, living goods (furniture cushions, carpet underlay), sports goods, SPANDEX, shoe sole, TPU elastomers, synthetic leather, paint and adhesive. MDI reacts with polyols in the production of different type of polyurethane. Polymeric MDI Polymeric MDI, polymethylene polyphenylisocyanates, also p-MDI or PMDI, is generally used in manufacturing hard and semi-hard polyurethane foam. Polymeric MDI is liquefied in normal temperature and easily handled and stored down to -20℃. The main application for Polymeric MDI, in the Polyurethanes industry, is: Construction Panels, Spray Heat Insulation, Refrigerators and Car Interiors.
